About the Coffee

Yirgacheffe is located on the south of Ethiopia where it is widely considered as the birthplace of coffee. The coffee trees grow in the backyards of small farmers. These coffee beans are known as "garden coffee" and they are harvested from October-January. Each lot gets combined in washing stations, depulped and dry fermented. After rinsing the last bit of mucilage, the coffee gets dried on African raised beds for 10-15 days. The coffee is sourced by Project Origin, an initiative which focuses on community-driven green bean sourcing.

We roast these beans to create a refreshing coffee that is bright with a beautiful note of lemon and a peach-like acidity.
